Research Activities (Division of Applied Life Sciences)
Division of Applied Life Sciences comprises 11 laboratories of the Faculty of Agriculture, 2 laboratories of the Institute for Chemical Research, 3 laboratories of the Wood Research Institute, as listed below. The education and research activities of this division are based on the basic & applied studies in life
sciences: e.g., scientific understanding of biological aspects, biological, chemical, biochemical,
physiological, molecular biological, physicochemical approaches to the biofunctions (BIOSCIENCE),
; application of this knowledge for bioproduction, manufacturing & processing of subsistence
chemicals including (agricultural) medicines & foods, (BIOTECHNOLOGY). Thus, this division covers
leading areas in bioscience & biotechnology.
